monthly mani * october '14

Long time, no -nail polish- see! I had some Monthly Mani posts in the beginning of my blog, but they somehow got lost in the way... So, this post is dedicated to the most loved and common (I think!) shade of all times! Before getting excited with all the funky shades, textures and finishes that the nail department has to offer the last couple of years, any deep red/bloody shade was my first and only choice whenever I had the chance for a manicure. Right when I started building my collection with pastels or any other crazy shade you can imagine, something was missing, and it was this. The Ciate London in Paparazzi. Not only the dark red shade is lovely, but also the bottle is designed with a curve on one side, so that you can safely hold it. As the formula and application is concerned, the flat brush makes it easy to apply a pigmented layer of colour and I usually follow with a second layer for an opaque and long-lasting result. For a top coat, I'm using the old and trusty O.P.I Top Coat that prevents any polish from chipping for a week and sometimes two weeks!

As matte lips are a thing for fall, what about matte nails too? For a twist on your regular manicure procedure, you can use the O.P.I Matte Top Coat for a matte finish, which will also change the shade underneath a little bit. The only downside is that it doesn't last long, most of the times not even a week, but for a special night out, it's perfect!

What are YOU wearing this month?
