Some call it 'Back to the 90's'... But personally, I've never left that era, mainly because of my mother. She was always drawn to this kind of shades and this is why she introduced me to them from the early beginning. When it comes to bold lips, it would be either the Everyday, the Autumn Lipstick or this. I firmly believe that anything with brown undertone suits me the best and being as classic as it gets, I never stray too far from the sidewalk. So, here come three brown shades, but with totally different outcomes because of their formula.
The e.l.f. Studio Matte Lip Colour in Praline is my favourite of all three, because it's creamy and matte, making my lips look bigger, but in a natural way. You twist it like a pen, you use it like a pencil -it's so easy to create a defined result because of its pointed end- and then you fill in the lips. It's really affordable and even though the lip product is good quality, I couldn't say the same for the packaging... But I can deal with it, since I love it (so much that I lost my first one last year and made another order just to have it back in my life!).
The Chanel Rouge Allure in Intuitive is also a creamy, but glossy shade that works best with a lip pencil underneath to prevent it from feathering out and make it last longer.
Last but not least, the Chanel Aqualumiere in Santa Barbara, a sheer brown shade with a purple undertone and silver sparkle to provide a beautiful sheen on the lips. More sheen, less colour, perfect for everyday, without being too much. I was very lucky with these Chanel products, because I bought them from a stock store for 5€ each... But in the real world, they are pretty expensive because Chanel is... Chanel!
